Innovative impulses from St.Gallen for German hospital planning

The chair of Health Economics, Policy and Management is delighted to announce that two of our articles have been published in the renowned German Krankenhaus-Report (hospital report) 2024. This year's Krankenhaus-Report was dedicated to the topic of structural reform and the need for further development of the German hospital landscape.

The article: “Hospital planning in Switzerland: Impulses for German hospital reform”, written by Jonas Subelack, Dr. David Kuklinski, Dr. Justus Vogel und Prof. Dr. Alexander Geissler highlights how Germany can benefit from the Swiss experience in hospital planning. The authors analyze the introduction of service groups in Switzerland and their influence on service differentiation and centralization of hospital care. The insights gained offer valuable suggestions for the hospital reform currently being discussed in Germany.
